Family Fun

Well, this week was rather interesting. At the beginning of the week Lisa and Jared both took turns being sick. Needless to say that taking a puppy out to use the facilities while you are not feeling well, is not the height of fun. But besides the illness the week went on as weeks are apt to do.

The weekend was a bit more interesting. It started out with a visit to Howell. Jared and Lisa went and visited with one of Lisa's good friends in Howell. While there Howser was able to meet Max, a Chiuaua. Max was a bit more hyper than Howser, and near the end of the visit Howser was trying to smash Max into the sofa using his body.

Saturday morning was spent studying, doing laundry, and playing with Hayden and Hunter, the nephews who live next to Lisa's parents house. Hayden(age 6) and Hunter(age 4) enjoyed playing with Howser, which meant they would run, and Howser would chase them. They also wanted to show Jared their 'hunting' game over at their house. They did this for a little bit, then Jared had them hunt various stuffed animals around the house. At lunch time he told them that the meat, that looked and tasted like ham, was really Hippogriff and maybe for Dinner they would be able to have Shion, which is a combination of Shark and Lion(see illustration below).

That evening Lisa, Jared, and Howser went out to Paradise to the Fish fry(maybe those were Shions and not trout o.O) at Aunt Julies. It was a fun event with everyone around and luckily Howser did OK for being a little puppy. The food was good and company better. Howser even took Meagan for a walk a couple of times.

Overall life is good, and things are going well.

Fun Weekend

Well, life is going well for all of us. School has started for Lisa and Jared. Jared is taking online classes and Lisa is going up to the campus.

On the employment front Lisa is keeping very busy with work, which work apparently gets calls from Africa. As is Kristen. Last week Lisa was answering the phones and got a call from Kristen about an issue, Lisa didn't work that account, so she had to transfer the call. But Lisa had Jared guess who would have called. He told her that Kristen would have been the least likely person he would have said.

Well, the weekend was a busy affair. Friday night Lisa and Jared went out to see the Rodeo at the Box Elder fair with Lisa's parents, and a couple of her siblings. The Rodeo was really fun and had a variety of interesting events and shows. There was steer wrestling, calf roping, Bare back broncos, normal broncos, Denver Broncos(well, maybe not them), and good ol' Bull riding. The entertainment events included Mutton Busting(children riding/clinging on sheep), Rodeo Clown skits, and a group called Team Ghost Riders. They are shown in the picture. Basically they are 3 monkeys riding on saddles on dogs that herd sheep. It was pretty fun to watch.

The main event for Saturday including going to 'The Head', aka the head of the reservoir out in Howell. Lisa and Jared took a couple of their nephews and niece, and their dog, Rybeck. Rybeck is a Chocolate Lab, but unfortunately he only tolerates the attention from Howser. Anywho the Head is shallow water with several mineral springs throughout it. So wading along in shin deep water you can see a discoloration on the ground, that turns out to be only a dirt covering for a 4 to 5 foot deep hole. The water in the hole has so much minerals in it that you can't actually sink in it. So it is pretty fun, and usually devolves into mud fights. Rybeck enjoyed swimming around, but Howser had to climb on Jared's back and take a rest. After a bit of that he decided that he only wanted to sit on Lisa's lap in near the shore. It was fun and culminated with Jared getting a new cell phone. Happy Day! Meh, on the plus side his goal is actually remember how to get into his voice mail.

Hello World!

Hello everyone! My name is Howser. I was adopted July 19th 2009 in Howell, UT. My mom was dropped off at a farm when she was pregnant with me, so I don't know what type of dog my dad was. So I'm a good ol' fashioned Mutt.

Originally I was named Doug, after the dog in the movie UP, but then it was requested by Lisa's sister to change the name so that I didn't have the same name as Lisa's brother. So they changed my name to DÜG, but then Lisa started calling me Duke after Jared suggested that name. Silly people. Anyway they ended up changing my name(hopefully for the last time!) to Howser after the brilliant young docter, Doogie Howser. So here I am.
